Jake Busching 2022 Cabernet Franc

The fruit for this wine was grown in Keswick, VA at the Beacon Tree Vineyard site. The vines were in their 5th leaf and growing on Nason Tatum Soil. The vintage was quite hot but balanced with soil moisture creating soft mature tannins and a very fruit forward palate. The use of small lot fermentation techniques combined with aging in only neutral oak for 16 months, gave this wine the strength for long aging but also a preserved presence of fruit intensity. Bottled in March 2024. Drink now or age for 5-8 years.
